The process of making and polishing lighter
1.Make the shell for a lighter
The shell is usually made of pressed metal sheets, with the upper and lower shell joined together by hinges and hinge pins.
2.Shell polishing
Polish the assembled lighter shells, the main polishing methods are as follows:
Hydrofinish
Barrel finishing
Buffing wheel
The surface of the shell can be polished with a cloth wheel and polishing wax to achieve mirror quality. At the same time, the quality of the polishing has a very decisive role in the quality of the subsequent electroplating treatment, and this is a step that cannot be neglected.

A.Paint coat(PU/PE) →two steps with two types of polishing wax:
①Sand to #1200
②Medium polishing wheel using our special #11 or #22 fabric + our special medium polishing white wax.
③Fine polishing cloth wheels using our special #16 fabric + our special fine polishing small white wax.
B.Stainless steel(SUS304) →two steps with two types of polishing wax:
①Sand to #1200
②Medium polishing wheels using our special #51 or #04 fabric + our special medium polishing white wax.
③Fine polishing cloth wheels using our special #37A fabric + our special fine polishing white wax.
C.Copper(brass) →two steps with one type of polishing wax:
①Sand to #600
②Medium polishing wheels using our special #03 or #04 fabric, fine polishing cloth wheels using our special #16 or #37A fabric.
③All with our special medium fine white wax.
3.Electroplating treatment
Put the polished shell into the solution for electroplating.
4.Make the inner shell of a lighter:
After the inner shell has been pressed, the lighter wheel is riveted to the inner shell, and a cotton core eye-hole is injected to provide an opening for the cotton core.
5.Connecting the inner shell to the outer:
Use a CAM to connect the inner shell to the outer, the upper part of the inner shell is installed, and then the cotton core is injected at the bottom, the cotton pad is put on, the bottom material is pressed, and the flint spring is driven into the inner shell.
6.Put the inner shell into the outer shell:
Workers put the inner shell into the outer shell and engraved special designs on the shell according to the different styles.
7.Check to see if the lighter qualifies:
After a series of inspections and tests, the qualified lighters are ready to be packaged and sold.
