Stainless steel is a widely used as engineering material due to its excellent corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties, machinability and good weldability. At the same time, through different polishing processing methods, the surfaces of various stainless steel plates, tubes, rods and profiles will have different degrees of surface finish, which greatly improves the appearance of stainless steel, makes it beautiful, and then increases its attractiveness.
Widely used in daily production and life, such as stainless steel chemical pipelines, containers, flagpoles, doors and windows, stair handrails, buckets, door beads, kitchen utensils, etc.
How to polish the Large Stainless Steel Plates?
There are many polishing methods for large stainless steel plates (finished steel plates), like abrasives belts/strengthen yarns. You can choose different combinations of polishing methods according to different uses.
(1)Polishing and finishing cold rolled stainless steel sheet by using particle size 100~120# wheels specified in GB2477, the stainless steel surface turn to semi-polished(Surface roughness Ra value is 0.4~1.5m) , suitable for constructions, kitchen utensils and places that need further finishing after manufacturing.
(2)Polishing and finishing cold rolled stainless steel sheet by using particle size 150~180# abrasive belts specified in GB2477, the stainless steel surface turn to brighter fine-polished(Surface roughness Ra value is 0.2 ~1.5m), widely used in restaurant kitchen equipment, medical equipment, container front, suitable for building treads and curtain walls.
This kind of fine-polished surface is not prone to fingerprints, also suitable for making stainless steel doors. And the surface has a specular reflection effect and special property of reflecting various light sources. No matter what shape it is, it will show a bright straight line after reflection because using abrasive belt polish.
This bright line is always perpendicular to the polishing direction regardless of the position of the stainless steel plate and the angle of incidence. Depending on the orientation of the steel plate, horizontal or vertical bright lines may appear on the building, which means the polishing line on the surface of the steel plate is vertical if the bright line is horizontal.
In this way, the surface of the steel plate is not easy to accumulate dust and easy to clean, which is very important for the maintenance of high-rise buildings.
(3)Polishing and finishing cold rolled stainless steel plate by using 240# abrasive belts specified in GB2477, the surface is equivalent to the Japanese standard No. 240 surface.
(4)Our company’s 150~180# abrasive belt correspond to specifications stipulated in GB2477, used for polishing and finishing cold-rolled stainless steel plate.
The stainless steel surface has good metal luster, soft and low reflectivity which does not reflect images. Very suitable for building curtain wall and edge decoration, and is also widely used as kitchen appliances.
(5)Polishing stainless steel plates by our company’s abrasive correspond to GB2477, will have a quasi-mirror finished surface with high reflectivity, equivalent to the fine polishing surface by 600# rotating polishing wheel in American Standard, mainly used for construction and decoration.
Many stainless steel plate suppliers have purchased polishing equipment in order to reduce costs and better serve customers. Some buyers use special abrasives for floating dry grinding or/and wet grinding polishing after purchasing tons of stainless steel plates, but cannot achieve ideal polishing effect because the operator does not know the special abrasives.
